1. Translate / Visualize – According to research, when we can translate and visualize a problem, we can find patterns that assist us solve it. The visualization strategy varies from person to person; I try to draw it out, some tabulate it, and yet others write equations; if we can figure out our best approach, we can translate the problem easily.
2. Figure out Best Approach – If you can step back after translation and spend about 20 seconds assessing the best approach, you may realize that there is irrelevant information in the question that you can disregard, or you may begin removing answer choices - deduction rather than calculation.
3. Deduce the solution. – Now you can determine the solution in around 40-50 seconds. No GMAT question involves so much calculation that it takes more than 2 minutes.
4. Kaizen Test (with me students go through more than 10 mock exams) Identify the problem and rectify it. Test again,
5. Overall - Work on enough problems that you are confident of the work done – when it's time to do your exam, you feel confident of the work you had done in preparation, that your anxiety levels are lowered
6. Personalize your prep - Keep your prep short – around 8-10 weeks max – Fatigue sets in afterward. Start with 2-3 hours per day and gradually increase to 5-6 hours per day closer to the exam.

1. Overkill - Conceptually, whether in the Quant or Verbal sections, you are tested on what you learned in Junior High. Unfortunately, available prep material (not of Original GMAC or a few other reputable prep material providers) goes above and beyond what is required for your GMAT tests. This is done to give the student the impression that they are getting something worthwhile when they pay for these prep resources - but it is simply overkill, and you will be overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of it all.
2. Predators – There are far too many of them (not all - I have come across legitimate tutors and prep material suppliers that deserve the fees they charge), and I have spoken to many students who have spent thousands of dollars on some of them and have not gotten anywhere - I did as well, regrettably. Most of the time, the students who fall for it are those who cannot afford it to begin with.
3. Way too much relevance to an Aptitude test – GMAT is simply an aptitude test, and for most students, it provides the opportunity to apply for a program but may not move the needle in terms of admissions. GMAT is an admissions office prerequisite, not a department-level requirement for many. 
4. Too damn expensive! – rather self-explanatory $150/hr+ for tutors (some are worth it, most not!), $$$$ for prep materials, You need another job just to prep for this.

Why are your rates Low?

It makes sense that you would be concerned! Many GMAT tutors have convinced everyone that a low fee correlates with subpar quality and insufficient experience.

In essence, I perceive tutoring as a service, unlike others whose primary motive is financial gain. People who know my story – know about this. While tutoring serves as a livelihood for many, for me, it's a way to make a genuine difference. I charge my students what I consider fair, ensuring they can access high-quality tutoring while allowing me to cover the expenses of initiatives supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds. This approach enables me to not only facilitate learning but also contribute positively to the lives of others.

I thought you also do it for free?

All services are available free of charge as well (maybe a beer), regardless of whether you opt for a paid package or not. The distinction lies in guaranteed time for paid users, while availability for others is subject to scheduling.

My original GMAT score was in the 500s 😅, and I spent over $150 per hour lesson with so-called tutors, but I never improved above mid 600s. Realising it was not for me, I concentrated on answering the questions and talking to people who could assist me with the answers and strategies for acquiring the answers quickly. This assisted me in reaching 740; eventually, my college opted not to need the GMAT.

I have also noticed that more and more institutions don't care about the GMAT; just the admission office does, unless it's for the MBA program.

What is your current study on?

To offer you a high-level overview of my research, it focuses on the use of AR/VR technology in communication campaigns. I'm now pursuing my PhD in Communications and PR at a top-tier research university in the Eastern US (top 2 in communications).

You got only a 740 and you claim to be an expert tutor?

Same reason why your high school physics teacher is not an Astrophysicist at NASA. Just because you are a great test taker doesn't mean you can teach someone else how to be one.

Why did you never get an MBA?

I didn't have a reason for getting an MBA. Without one, I was able to advance up the job ladder. But as a recruiter, I am aware that things have changed and that MBAs now open doors that might otherwise be closed.
