The MBA Recruitment Consultant

Turn your MBA into the career platform it was meant to be...

This coaching program supports you across the full MBA recruiting lifecycle: from targeting Summer Associate roles, to securing a return offer, to navigating full-time recruiting if you need a second shot.

You work one-to-one with a coach who understands GMAT, admissions, and recruiting, and who treats your career as a long-term strategy, not a series of random applications.

WHO THIS COACHING IS FOR

This service is designed for:

  • Incoming MBA students who want a clear recruiting plan before they arrive on campus
  • Current MBA students preparing for consulting, finance, tech, or strategy recruiting
  • Career switchers using the MBA to change industry or function
  • International candidates who need to factor in sponsorship, geography, and timing
  • Pre-MBA candidates who want to align their current role with future recruiting goals

If you feel overwhelmed by all the choices, unsure how to position your background, or worried about “falling behind”, this coaching is built for you.

WHAT THE COACHING COVERS

Stage 1: MBA Summer Associate Recruiting

This is the most critical phase of the MBA career path. We work together to:

  • Define clear, realistic target roles and industries
  • Map schools, firms, and geographies to your profile
  • Build a strong professional narrative and positioning
  • Rework your resume for MBA-level recruiting
  • Align your LinkedIn, networking story, and application story
  • Create a structured networking and outreach plan
  • Prepare for behavioral, case, and technical interviews
  • Build a calendar for deadlines, events, and firm touchpoints

The goal is simple: arrive at recruiting season with a clear strategy, a strong story, and the tools to execute.

Stage 2: Internship Performance & Return Offer Strategy

Once you secure a summer role, the focus shifts to performance and return offer probability.

We will work on:

  • Understanding expectations, culture, and unwritten rules
  • Structuring your work and communication with managers and partners
  • Managing relationships with sponsors, mentors, and project leads
  • Planning and delivering key presentations or final deliverables
  • Navigating feedback, politics, and course corrections early
  • Positioning yourself for a return offer, not just “good work”

This support continues through the internship period so that you are not guessing what matters. You have a sounding board for situations that are often sensitive and nuanced.

Stage 3: Full-Time Recruiting & Career Transitions

If you do not receive, or do not accept, a return offer, we move into full-time recruiting with a refined profile and strategy.

In this phase, we focus on:

  • Reframing the summer experience in a positive, honest way
  • Updating your narrative for full-time roles
  • Retargeting industries or firms where your profile fits better
  • Refreshing your resume and LinkedIn for full-time search
  • Restarting networking with a smarter, more focused approach
  • Ongoing interview preparation, debriefs, and adjustments
  • Evaluating and negotiating offers once they come in

The aim is to avoid panic-driven applications and instead run a deliberate, well-managed search that aligns with your long-term goals.

HOW THE COACHING WORKS

Step 1: Introductory Strategy Session

We review your background, goals, constraints, and target timelines.
You leave this session with:

  • An initial sense of your career options
  • A high-level recruiting strategy
  • Clarity on whether this coaching is the right fit for you

Step 2: Custom Career Roadmap

Based on your goals and school context, you receive a written roadmap that covers:

  • Target industries, roles, and geographies
  • Skills and experience gaps to work on
  • Networking and outreach plan
  • Interview and preparation milestones
  • Internship and return-offer strategy

Step 3: Ongoing One-to-One Coaching

We meet on a regular cadence (weekly or biweekly) to:

  • Refine your narrative and positioning
  • Review resume, LinkedIn, cover letters, and outreach messages
  • Prepare for networking chats and interviews
  • Work through real-time recruiting decisions and dilemmas
  • Adjust strategy as your interests or market conditions shift

Step 4: Support During Key Moments

You receive support via messaging for:

  • Time-sensitive decisions
  • Offer comparisons
  • Difficult conversations with firms or managers
  • Real-time scenarios during the internship

You are not navigating these high-stakes moments on your own.
